Let the Coconut Vinegar War Begin!

We will be doing coconut vinegars here, other versions of vinegars will have their own tops. I will start with coconut vinegar since it's widely available unlike others that are region based or province base.

I have tasted very good coconut vinegars from local farms, home made and only for their community. These are non commercial scale, not even micro enterprise, your talking about sari sari store in the mids of the mountain.

1. Daddy Dessie's


So far, this is the nearest tasting vinegar that I got from the local farmer from Simala, Cebu. It is pure coconut vinegar, I have tried those from local markets and they mix it with water or cane vinegar. Also some of the local farmers sell vinegars that are not yet at its prime. But Daddy Dessie is spot on.I forgot if they have spice version.

2. Silver Swan Sukang-Hang


If you dont have access to local farmers vinegar, the grocery surely has this. So far the coconut vinegar flavor comes out. It's cheap also!

3.Datu Puti Pinoy Spicy

Datu Puti is known for its vinegar. It's like buy a datu puti venigar and buy silver swan soy sauce. This Datu Puti Spiced Vinegar is like a combination of of Vinegar and Pickled Papaya or locally call Atsara. The combination is good, the mere fact that you have atsara to cut the richest of the food you eat does the job here. Again this is not the Sukang Tuba that you are looking for if you want Sukang Tuba with plain sili or chilis.

4. from 3. TISOY Spiced Coconut Vinegar


I dont want to include this here but since we are in the topic of coconut vinegar might as well include this since i have some inputs with regards to spiced vinegars, we'll call it non pure. This is not pure, and keep in mind, read the ingredients, its has fish sauce, so do not expect to get that coconut vinegar taste, although can notice that here or taste it here but its not as good as the Silver Swan if we are talking about coconut vinegar. This is more of their own style, kind of like house sauce or something, signature style. So read the ingredirent first before buying.
