Abra is a global platform for digital asset prime services and wealth management

I started with abra.com back in 2021 to buy some cyrpto and to hodl it. I dont have much there because my goal is to find a way for individuals with low income to earn something from crypto with a little investment that they can only shell out.

The crypto market was on its high at the time, so when the bear market started, it was hodl time. Not selling or else it will be realized lost. So diamond hands will win. Did some buys during the market lows.

As the market bottomed and started to recover, paper lost started to lower down. As of this writing Oct 31 2024, btc has hit 73k again. So I checked Abra after almost a year.

ALL OF MY ASSETS ARE GONE!

I assumed perhaps some gui problem or undergoing some maintenance. So i email their support contact reporting the problem. And this was their reply:

Starting November 25, 2023, a monthly account fee of US $5 will be introduced for international account holders under certain conditions. We notified users of this change via email along with an FAQ.
This fee will apply to international users who:
-Do not have an active Abra Borrow loan of more than US$100
, and/or
 
-Have a remaining Abra Boost balance below US$500, and/or
 
-Have not traded within the last 30 days.
 
From our records we see you did not have an active loan for more than $100, nor did you have an Abra Boost balance of $500 or more, or made an exchange of $5 or more within the last 30 days. 

I've checked my email and didn't received any email about it. Very dissappointed actually, but they said it was 0'd out due to no activity.

So i dont recommend ABRA.com for doing crypto hodling, it has become a trading platform now. And there are wallet options now for hodling, rather than parking your crypto in trading platform that can implement things like these if you are not trading.
