Whats in the menu? 3 choices of starters, 3 choices of pasta course, 3 choices of main course and 2 choices of dessert. This also comes in a 3 meal course.I will be writting about the choices we got for each course.
The staff were accomulating and very attentive, I mean it's expected but you can tell it genuine.
You will be given a complimentary bbread with a sort of a jam while you wait for your order, it's not a fruit jam but some else, its not sweet, it looks like a caviar but its not. It's toasted bread.
For the starters or appetizers, we got the
Insalata di rucola con provolone e crema di balsamico
Rocket salad, walnuts, balsamic reduction, provolone cheese, fresh beetroot, cherry tomatoes
Cozze alla Genovese
Sautéed mussels, pesto sauce, lemon bouillabaisse
the other option was
Vitello Tonnato
Roasted sous-vide veal rump, tuna sauce, capers
The mussels we good, i mean yup its good. The pesto sause did the thing, we all tried mussels hereas its abundant like in tinola or mussel soup mixed with other shelss and calms but this one is something to try, and a must try!
Im not very much into salads but i want to try different salads im expanding my green intakes hahaha. The provolone cheesestands out well, good add on to salad and a good combination with the balsamic. This salad is not your typical mayo salad or sweet salad, this is more of the savory side of the salad.
Moving on to the pasta course, but this time the appetizer is filling your stomach, remember the complimentary bread, you can dip them to both sauces.
For our paste we got
Spaghetti aglio olio peperoncino alla Salernitana
Spaghetti AOP, sundried Italian tomato, homemade stracciatella cheese
Rigatoni alla crema di tartufo con Prosciutto crudo di Parma
Rigatoni, truffle cream sauce, Parma ham, pistachio
the other option was
Penne alla boscaiola e salsiccia nostrana
Penne, tomato sauce, wild mushrooms, Italian sausage
Both were really good, but the spaghetti was something. The sundried tomato just brings it to the mix level in combination with the sauce.
The truffle cream sauce is way way better thank your carbonara hahaha.I wont give emphasizes on the Parma ham as it was more of an accent.
Both a must try but try the spaghetti frist, but if your into carbona then try the truffle cream sauce.
Then to the main course, but this time you tummy feels you had a good full meal.
For he main course we got
Stufato di guancia di manzo al rosmarino con purè di patate
Braised Australian beef cheek with rosemary and mashed potatoes
Pollo alla cacciatora con peperoni
Cacciatora-style chicken, roasted bell pepper, tomato sauce, olives
the other option was
Cernia alla Veneziana con asparagi
Cream-simmered Venezia-style grouper, green asparagus, almond slices
We got the chicken over the fish so we can see how good they are. The braised beef as a choice is a no brainer.
Wasnt able to get a good photo of the chicken, but its a quarter leg chicken. I dont know whats it called but usuall the quarter leg has bones but this one is like deboned, Drumsticks plus more meat without the bones of you mang inasal paa. The more meat part was kind of dry and a little tough to the bite but the drumstick was perfectly cooked, soft and flavorful. The sauce was good good, if only the meat part was soft like the drumstick part if could have been perfect. I enjoyed the baby potatoes, I always do.
The braised beef was the main show! I mean they are known for their stakes so this should be a thing too.
Simple as this, "you dont need a knife to earn corned beef" hahaha in short "cooked to prefection" or better yet "braised to perfection" hahahha
Im trying put in how to describe it, let tender straws of meat puzzled backed together that even a fork scratch dismantled it.
And the taste? well if its done as soft as that, its taste as good as it can be.. I have to revisit Beverly Boutique, used to be Eddie's Hotel, the best corned beef I had.
Then the dessert to finish off this full course, by this time we were like finally the the end, not more of finally the dessert, we were so stuffed!
For dessert we got
Gelato and Panna cotta only two choices, so we opted to get both to try
Top right is the gellato and lower right is the panna cota.
They didnt have the pistaccio gellato so we opted for chocalate over the vannila.I would say the chocalate if a grown up chocolate as its not your typical so sweet kiddie chocoalate. The panna cota is good!
BUT what is that cake on the side?
TORTINO Chocolate lava cake with Stracciatella gelato
Complimentary! in the house for special occassions!
I told the waitress as they were about to serve the dessert to put a candle on the panna cota so it serves like a cake for her, didnt know it was served half a demitasse full , and she said "oh we ran out of candles as many celebrate their bdays here. After awhile surpisingly they served our dessert with a TORTINO!
By far the best complimentary bday cake!, a full serving!
We have complimentary servings because of special occasions but this is by far the best and a full serving, some they just put in a bit of something but this is one is a full serving that shows something. You are not just something but special for that day to them, a very good gesture!
And for me that simple great gesture means you are on top!
